South Korea ♥ Part 4
Greetings! How's your day?
I am here to update this blog for the second time this week/month! Now that is something that I rarely do! I can't fall asleep as much as I want to. So here we go, part 4 of my South Korea trip from last August.
Day 5 (23rd August 2011) - Seoul
We headed to Coex Underground Mall via taxi (didn't dare to try walking anymore after previous day's experience lol) after getting ready.
According to wikipedia,
COEX Mall is an underground shopping mall located in Gangnam-gu Seoul, South Korea. It is Asia's largest underground shopping mall with an area of about 85,000 square metres.[1] The mall is located at Samseong-dong served by Samseong Station on Seoul Metro Line 2, at the intersection of Teheranno and Yeongdong Dae-ro.
Along with hundreds of shops, the mall houses two food courts, a 16-screen multi-cinema complex, an aquarium attraction, a large bookstore, and the Kimchi Field Museum. It also features a game area which is used to film computer game tournaments (for which South Korea is known) which are broadcast on local television. There are also stages inside and outside the mall for seasonal events and public appearances by celebrities.
The COEX Mall is adjacent to the COEX Convention & Exhibition Centre, which is also part of the South Korean World Trade Centre complex.
For more info,
click here for Coex Mall's website.
We spent the whole day there! We arrived at about 10:30 am and left at about 8:30pm! Well, we just took our sweet time and shop slowly, visiting almost every single shop! Too bad the aquarium's already closed when we reached that part of the mall. True to the info in wikipedia, the food courts and bookstore are HUGE! I spent a long time in the bookstore (got a few books), probably 90 minutes? Hehe... They have books in Korean and also English so there is still a book for everyone.
Without further saying, I'll let the pictures do the story telling.
The building above Coex underground mall. First, enter the building.
Take the escalator down~
and you'll be at Coex Mall!
:)
First destination, food court! Need to fill the stomach before shopping! Brunch it is!
My cousin and I ordered our udon from this stall.
Tadaaaa!
My bulgogi udon with prawn and chicken tempura (not included in the set, additional add ons) and a tuna onigiri! Love the free flow of radish pickles too!!!
Very full and satisfying meal! :D
We're more than ready to start shopping!
One of my favourites, Pancoat!
Then we started buying lots of stuff until we had to rent a locker! I don't know how the lockers work cos our guy friend somehow managed to figure it out. ;)
Time really wasn't a factor there and without realising, it was already 3-4pm when we felt slightly tired from walking.
Randomly picked a place to have some coffee and rest our feet.
Pitti caffe~
Teddies on the wall!
Those 2 tables were the only ones that were not occupied!
My iced latte and macarons.
Coffee's really smooth and silky with sweet aroma. No sugar is needed to add flavour~
It's the other way round for the macarons though. I'd skip those if I happen to go there again.
After having a coffee break, we continued to shop/window shop.
Hello Kitty store!
So cuuuuuuteeeee!
Hello Kitty fans would love this store!
We love supermarkets cos we love getting food so with the map in our hands, we headed for Hyundai Department Store. Nah, not what you have in mind you funny people! :P
No cars being sold at all!
On the way there, spotted my loves!
JYJ and Jang Geun Seuk!
*snap photos*
More loves!
My GD baby ♥!!
Totally love the department store! Here are some of the stuff that I got!
EVERYTHING IS YUMMY!!
Especially the green tea latte!! Someone dhl back to meeeeeeee please!
T^T
Remember, we already did a shopping cart full of food back in Jeju? Tsk tsk...
Macarons~
So pretty! Friend bought 2 sets of those as souvenirs.
PS: they are not cheap!
They have mini macarons as well! SO CUTE!!
Cute right?? ^^
After buying our stuff, we randomly picked a restaurant and had our dinner. Yeap, the udon from brunch lasted til after 8pm! Amazing! We had naengmyeon (cold noodles) and it's not bad! I don't love it like really love it but I enjoy eating it cos it's cold. It was summer after all~
We went back to the hotel after having our dinner. Overall, a very satisfying day filled with shopping and good food! Do drop by Coex Mall if you happen to be around Seoul. I can't wait to pay it a visit again soon!
*rubs eyes*
Now I feel sleepy! Good night y'all!!
^_^
PS: I am too lazy to add blog's url on the photos! All photos belong to me and my cousin(1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th photo). Please do not use them for other purposes. Thank you~
PPS: Day 6(last day) will be updated in the next post! :( I miss South Korea!
