Charcoal BBQ & Grill (KB Branch)'s set lunch~
This is a scheduled post. Enjoy~
Some time earlier this month, I met up with a girl friend over lunch at Charcoal BBQ & Grill in KB. I've been there for dinner for three times so far and I wanted to try dining there in the afternoon. And another reason was, is the set lunch as good as their branch in BSB? I'll share my 2 cents along with the pictures.
The set lunch menu at that time. I am not sure if it's still valid cause I've not gone back there lately. Anyway, the above picture's taken from Charcoal's
facebook.
My coffee and my friend's sparkling juice that came with the set lunch.
Both drinks are refillable.
Spicy marinated grilled lamb chop served with corn and wedges.
Bnd 12.90
My verdict? Not bad and quite filling but not as good as what I expected. Meat was grilled to well done as requested by me. :) But, the presentation of the food was actually really bad. My friend had to rearrange the wedges and corn for this slightly better looking picture. Corn was really sweet but the wedges were just blant.
Spaghetti topped with beef stroganof.
Bnd 8.90
My friend ordered this and upon the dish was placed on the table, the spaghetti looked slightly over-cooked. Presentation of the food's decent for a pasta dish. As for the taste, my friend said it's not that good and it's something that she wouldn't order for the second time. And yes, the spaghetti was over-cooked! I knew it~
French onion soup.
Bnd 4.00 (can't recall the right price)
I ordered this and surprisingly, it's quite good! Soup is filled with chunks of onions and its sweetness. Eating the toasted garlic bread with the soup was yummy too! But it is definitely not for people who dislike onions.
Chocolate and apple crumble.
Bnd 5.00 (or was it 4.90? sorry!)
Our verdict? *shudders* It's really bad. The crust was really hard and we were so worried the whole thing would jump off from the plate when we tried to cut it! We both agreed to stay off their desserts until someone can prove that they are nice cause up to our latest visit, all their desserts that we'd tried were terrible.
But we were glad to see more waitress on this visit :)
Only time will tell. We'll definitely visit again but maybe not too soon after a series of bad desserts.
