Day trip to Miri (June 2012) and Foodie Trip to KL (Dec 2011) Part 3
Hey guys! What's up?
I am currently halfway through my week-long break from work and I thought I'd have more time to update this blog last week but it seems like there are so many things that need my attention away from the internet. I'll try to squeeze in as much as I can yeah?
For the past few days, I met up with friends that I have not seen for quite some time and it always makes me feel so good after meeting them. It's like a confirmation that I am still sane outside work and there are other things happening outside my small work circle. It's also fun to listen to updates from friends and of course, the old jokes that we love so much since many many years ago!
I love my friends, whether they are friends that I grew up with since primary school years, friends that I made in high school or in uni. They all hold a special place in my heart and have played a big role in my life. I just hope our friendships won't fade away due to our age or different lifestyles(work in different field and countries).
Anyway, apart from catching up with friends, I also had a day trip to Miri. Here are some photos from from a couple of days ago.
We had lunch at.......
Kenny Rogers Roasters!
Love the ambience~
Nice lighting too~
My quarter meal. The bbq sauce's so good!
Fruits were fresh, cold and crunchy! :)
Mac and cheese was ok.
The only down side is the mashed potatoes. It's the worst I have ever eaten so far.
Caesar salad.
I would NOT recommend this. Just like the mashed potato, it's also the worst.
Sorry!
Even blogger doesn't upload the photo properly. It's supposed to be the other way round.
Now... these muffins here are TOTALLY YUMMY!
Fresh, soft and warm muffins!
We even bought half a dozen to bring home! Personally I prefer the chocolate raisins muffin~
Warm chocolate oasis.
This is truly a gem. In fact, we ordered another one after finishing this in 3 minutes! The warm and gooey chocolate flowing out~ aaahhhh~
Kenny Rogers Roasters is situated on the ground floor of Bintang Plaza, better known as Parkson(new wing). It's next to Pizza Hut and opposite of Secret Recipe and Big Apple Donuts. Click
here for their website.
Novels, my love~
Fantasy, adventure or chick lit, love them all! :D
Reader's Digest and my Chopper's file!
*happy*
Best purchase for this trip!
Hand carry luggage that has a very vintage feel! Super love it!
Alright, and now the continuation of my KL foodie post.

Kuala Lumpur (KL) - Day 4
Sis's friend brought us to this very old school
kopitiam for breakfast. I'm sorry I don't remember where it is or even the name of the place. I should take photos of shops in the future.
Really thick, creamy and fragrant coffee. No milk or creamer.
SO GREAAAAAT!
Beats the coffee from any other franchised coffee stores *cough*
Wantan~
Char siew kolo mee!
Not bad! But still, the coffee's the star!
After having our breakfast, we then headed back to Bukit Bintang for more shopping! We had our late lunch at Hong Kong Li Garden. It's on the first floor of Low Yat Plaza.
Menu
My rice set.
Pork ribs, soup and iced milk tea.
*satisfied*
Here is their
facebook page if you are interested. It's my second time there and food wise, it's quite good. Price of their food was ok too! And most important of all, they have fast wi-fi connection! :D Ambience of the restaurant's really lovely too! We then continued to do more shopping! YAY!
My cousin and her friends arrived on that day too and we had Japanese BBQ for dinner. Daidomon it is! For your info, it's at Great Eastern Mall (Jalan Ampang) and nowhere in Bukit Bintang so you have to hail a taxi to reach that place. Phewf, it was quite difficult to go there since the jam in KL's really bad.
It's ok, in the end, we managed to arrive at Daidomon in time for our dinner. Oh yeah, here is their
website.
The menu and stove~
Beef!
Beef, prawns etc
The settings in the restaurant.
Lanterns hanging from the ceiling, photos of VIPs I guess?
Bottles of alcohols lining the shelves as a divider. Interesting!
As for my personal opinion, it's a place I wouldn't want to go back to again. It's not easy to go there and the food's just mediocre. Anyhow, we waited by the roadside for a very long time for a taxi! Thank goodness there's this nice taxi driver who was actually on his way home after finishing his shift giving us a ride to Pavilion. Hope your business's good pak cik~
After a full meal, niece, cousin and her friends went to watch a movie while my sis and I walked around
Tokyo Street on Level 6, Pavilion. Click
here for their facebook page!
Tokyo Street!
Hokkaido Mille Crepe Cake!
OMGGGGG I was so tempted to buy everything! HAHA
You'll know what I got very soon! =P
Wanted to get more stuff but most of the stores were closing so I told myself I'd go back the next day! And so we just walked around for digestive purposes. LOL too bloated to just sleep right away!
Tofu block~
Pretty kimono clothe on display~
Japanese handicrafts on display~
Hehe.... the view from Level 6!
Since we couldn't shop that late anymore so we just walked back to our hotel to have our desserts.
Banana milk! KYAAAA how I missed it!
Jeng jeng jeng jeng~
I got the
green tea mille crepe!!
It's
gaaaahhh AWEEEEESOMEEEEEE!!!
T.T
I'd like to have some now!
Okie dokie, that's all for today. More yummy photos in the next(last) KL foodie post! I need to get some sleep now cos I'm going for a half day trip to BSB tomorrow for more food!
Have a nice weekend all!
