2 weeks down... like literally down!

Second week of 2012 is coming to an end soon. How has your 2012 been so far?

For me, it's two busy and really stressful weeks. Had to prepare for a new school term, surprise visit by a VIP with less than 24 hours' notice and more jobs/tasks assigned to me.

The worst has yet to come! Week 3 will be full of presentations, meetings and due dates for reports on top of my normal everyday work! I seriously do not know how I am going to cope with them all in one go. Please let me be stronger!!!

Sometimes I feel that life is so unfair. Does being a competent person a disadvantage in today's world?

I am only human. Like everyone else, I only have a pair of hands, eyes and a brain... there is only so much I can do...

*sigh*

It's about a week to CNY and I have not cleaned my room at all! Maybe I'll just sweep and mop the floor when I'm done with those pending work since we only have ONE freaking day off for CNY this year. Yeah, just ONE day! Then the following few days after that will be filled with meetings, activities and what not again! Suddenly, I lost the mood and hype for CNY... I think I might even sleep through the whole day to recharge for the days after that one short off day~

Since my earliest memory, Chinese usually start working earliest on the 3rd or 4th day of CNY but I guess this year it's gonna be different.. back to work EXTRA early!

I'm sorry for such a sad post.... for those who are going to have more days off for CNY, enjoy to the max in my place! I shall try NOT to be absent minded while at work! XD

Hello 2012!

I was busy preparing for going back to school tomorrow and the days to come during the last few days of 2011 so I never got the chance to write a summary or recap of 2011.

2011 had been an exciting and busy year for me. Before I recap what I'd done in 2011, let's see what I had wanted to achieve.

Below is part of my post from the last day of 2010 and let's see if I'd fulfilled any of my wishes~

Wow one of my goals for 2011 is to save a lot of money HAHA call me kiam or whatever~

Now, here are my wishes for 2011:

1) Good health for everyone like, seriously? that's the most important right?
2) A bank account that has more isi HAHA
3) Perform better in work and possess the super power to mark books really fast. HAHA
3) Spend more time with my friends. I'm sooo sorry! It's so tiring to hang out after work on working nights man. *sniff sniff*
4) More 'me' time! lol this is to squeeze in animes and dramas hohoho
5) Always keep my room clean and tidy. Aiyoh must increase to cleaning twice a week now!
6) Must make sure I have at least 7 hours of sleep daily.
7) Travel to NEW places.
8) Brush up my foreign languages. I feel so guilty man. Need to brush up my nihongo and italiano especially the later cos it's been agesssss mi dispiace insegnante!
9) Get a digital camera. OMG this has been on my list for so many years but it never happen HAHA
10) Be more organised or rather, better time management.

Anyway, sadly my ultimate goal to save a lot did not happen in 2011. I'll think about that and see if it's still a goal that I can achieve in 2012. 2011 had been a year that I've visited the doctor very frequently. It totaled up the the number of times I'd been to the doctor all the years before 2011! I really don't wish the same thing to happen again.

I can confidently admit that I did spend quality times with my friends but I know that's still not enough. I guess a better time management is the key. I thought I'd have more 'me' time but I was so wrong. In fact I was swarmed with lots of projects that take me out of the school and district. Yeah, present tense cause it has not ended. Sad, I know.

I think I need to remove #5 cause it's just impossible! haha I am after all, the queen of reasons, as named by my friends~ I seriously need to check with myself for that!

Sleep? Mmmm... just like #4, I'll need better time management. The ONLY highlighted wish was #7 and that was the only wish that REALLY happened in 2011. I traveled to Hong Kong and South Korea for the first time in 2011! XD

#8? I did nothing for that! T^T Sorry!

I am going to ditch #9! I must have been out of my head for listing that back then!! #10 is such an important wish!! What was I thinking to put it at the last place in 2010?? No wonder the rest never happened!

Now, a lil recap for 2011.

January 2011 was a busy month as it was back to school time. February, March, April and May just flew by as I was buried by work and some changes in my work place. June brought me to Hong Kong, Macau and Kuala Lumpur for a week. It was a really rushed and badly planned trip but it's ok. I will plan better next time!

July were just any other month and in August, I went to South Korea and its beautiful Jeju Island for the first time. It was an unexpected trip cause I initially wanted to go to Japan but life is a funny thing, no? September to November were even busier than the first half of 2011 and my health was really terrible too! Fever, cough, flu, skin allergies... you name it, I got them. December 2011 was a month that I caught up with some old friends and another trip to Kuala Lumpur.

Overall, after working for two years, I've learned to do my work better. Traveling to new places also open up my mind to the world that's so wide and filled with so many things. 2011, Thank You for all that you'd shown me.

The way I blog and the posts that I'd churned out in 2011 also changed. This blog is more on food and traveling as compared to the years before. We're always learning, growing and adapting...

What will 2012 be like? We have 363 days to see~

Here's my wishlist for 2012:
1) Good health & enough rest
2) Better time management
3) Better self management (temper, habits, emotions etc)
4) Travel to at least a new place
5) Better financial management

Let's all buckle up for 2012! Hope you guys will have an amazing year! And please, less natural disaster. It's sad to see people losing their lives, homes, jobs and loved ones.

A lil update...

Have not updated this space on the internet for some time and I am a bit shocked with blogger's new layout and interface!

Half of December 2011 has gone and so does my holiday! HOIIII! It's all due to my KL trip that's slightly too long! (Cancelled my trip to Bangkok so yeah...) Imagine staying in KL for a week! Thank goodness a friend of my sister took us in for 2 nights! Tsk tsk.. and that's where I experienced another side of KL which is as good as the city! More updates soon!

This round's trip is filled with ups and downs. Met up with my one of my besties, another friend and bumped into another ex-neighbour! Fell sick on alternate days! My goodness, I don't know if it's me or the weather!

Will resume updating my so August Korea Trip and December KL Trip when I am done with my report and hanging out/catching up with old friends!

Cute lil place in KB~ Wan Choo's Eatery!

Came across this new cafe like place from KB on the internet(blog or fb? dont remember!zzz) last night, or was it the night before that? Anyhow... this afternoon, I dropped by that place with sis and cousin K for tea/early dinner at 4 ish.

Wan Choo's Eatery, here we come!

Upon entering, we were greeted by a huge cupcake banner! How cute and cool is that?! Went inside and I love the ambience instantly! The whole place screams modern with a lil touch of classic to me! It's black and white the whole way! Chair, tables, wall, curtains etc They have lots of photo frames filled with black and white photos hanging on the wall too! Totally so classic!

Saw the lovely cupcakes and headed for them right away! They have normal and mini size cupcakes! How cute!

Here are the food that we ordered.

Lasagne, spaghetti, strawberry cheesecake, mini oreo cupcake, mini red velvet cupcake and rainbow cake.

For me, the strawberry cheesecake was the winner! Cupcakes were really cute but they're just normal. One thing I like about them is their size! Mini size means you eat less! tsk tsk... I just love the cupcake cups to the max! Especially the polka dots one! Spaghetti was alright but the lasagne was YUMS when eaten hot! Just skip the pretty rainbow cake aights?

Our coffee arrived later cos the place is run by a lady(who I assume her name is Wan Choo) and 2 or 3 of her family members and I guess she's the only one who can make the coffee that come with designs!

My cafe latte(a flower), sis's cafe latte(hearts) and cousin K's cappuccino(hearts also). Pretty or not?! WE LOVE THEM!

Personally, I like how the coffee is being presented in a nice cup and the taste was ok too. You can just drink that way but if you like your coffee sweet, you can always add sugar.

We also ordered a peach pudding but I forgot to take a picture of it! That was just alright... strawberry cheesecake for the world! HAHA

Since this is my first visit to Wan Choo's Eatery, I'll be a lil bit lenient.

Ambience : 5/5

Food: 3/5 (I'm sure it'll improve when they have a chef)

Dessert : 3.5/5

Coffee : 4.5/5

Hi~

It's Monday again but it feels so different today cos it's a Public Holiday!

Woohooooooo~

Planned to sleep til really late but it's not easy to adjust our body's alarm clock to wake up later than the norm.

Caught up with a close friend who I've not seen for a few weeks over lunch and I've been idling at home since I got back from lunch HAHA

When we're working, we always ask for days off but when we're given one, we are suddenly lost and clueless with the given free time.

Humans...tsk tsk....

Korea trip day 3 onward will not be posted today cos I don't have the mood to edit the photos!

South Korea, here we come!

Hello~

It's towards the end of November 2011 already so we're so much closer to the one month long holiday! WOOOHOOOO! Anyway, today I'm going to blog about my recent trip to South Korea since I'm done with ALL my work! Yes, I am bored! HAHA I'm gonna split my awesome vacation/holiday trip into a few posts!

Let the series of ~~unfortunate~~ exciting events begin for Day 1 and 2!

Day 1 ( 19 August 2011)

Left for Miri Airport at around noon. When we reached the airport about an hour later, we waved goodbye to my sister and niece with really excited faces.

We went in and dropped our luggage at the counter and got our boarding pass. (You can check in online or use your mobile phone or the kiosk counters at the airport!) And so we went upstairs but, we had to take the stairs cos the escalator was under service!!

*horror*

Not that I want to make a big deal out of that but my backpack was really heavy! I had packets of instant Mee Goreng, perencah ayam masak merah, perencah sup tulang etc together with 2 mobile phones(DST and Digi), a book and other stuff! To make things worse, due to the weight of my backpack, I tripped at the stairs.

Hurt my chin and thank goodness, not my face. Or else, I'd have a bruised face in all the photos!!

By the way, I packed all those food for a friend who's doing her Masters in South Korea! They are not for our consumption HAHA

We flew to Kuala Lumpur via MAS at about 4pm. As usual, it took about 2 hours to reach West Malaysia and upon arriving KLIA, we claimed our baggage and hunt for a money changer.

We tried to change into Korean Wons in Miri and at other places at BSB but they are all not available! Luckily a friend's uncle helped me to change to some KRW in Singapore beforehand!

Anyways, don't even bother exchanging BND to KRW at KLIA cos the rate is VERY low. Or rather, don't even think of bringing BND when you want to travel to South Korea cos NOT ALL money changer or banks accept BND. So, to be on the safe side, bring SGD with you. My cousin and her Thai friend had to change some BND to KRW despite the bad exchange rate.

Since we're flying to Seoul via AirAsia X, we had to move our butts to LCCT soon.

How do you get to LCCT from KLIA?

With the help of signs and some instinct, we managed to get to the bus station.

Take the lift to Level 2, go down to the bus station and get on the bus at 'Bus #10'.

I think we each paid RM2 for the 20-30 mins bus ride. There were two young Chinese(mainland) girls taking the bus with us only so it was a quiet ride.

When we reached LCCT, we headed straight for Old Town cos we were famished! HAHA after filling our stomachs, we went to the kiosk counter to print our boarding pass and then drop our luggage at the counter.

We had around 2 hours to kill before our flight and really, it was a torture! Y'all know how it feels like, right?

Anyway, we boarded our flight at 10.20pm and took off at 11pm. The plane was FULL of Koreans and Chinese(mainland)!!

In this post, please note that whenever I say Chinese, I mean Chinese from China, not Chinese from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei or other countries.

The 3 of us got the middle aisle seats and I sat on the outer seat, which is next to the aisle. Bad choice but I couldn't change my seat cos the plane was really very full.

Not long after the plane took off, they dimmed the lights so passengers could sleep. We were kind of exhausted cos we'd traveled for almost 12 hours, by car between 2 countries and airplane between 2 states and then by bus between 2 airports. So, we decided to get some sleep.

Then we woke up in the morning with happy faces NOT!

TT^TT

In fact, I did not sleep at all! Other passengers kept on walking on the plane and each and every time one passed by, either my head or shoulder got knocked, pushed or nudged!

:'(

A family sitting near us won't stop eating and talking but that's okay, I solved the problem by stuffing my earphones to my ears BUT the walking thing?? OH MAI GWADDDDD I felt like standing up to slap or shout into their faces!

T.T

But I am a nice person, right?? ^^

So, I could only curse in my head and hope that time will pass faster.

How do I know I didn't sleep at all? Every time I doze off, I was woken up at the end of the friggin same song!! ROARRRR and I did not set my playlist on repeat or random.

*crawls on floor*

Sad, right?

What's even sadder is that the flight's duration was 6 hours and 20 mins!!!

That aside, about an hour before landing, I went to the lavatory to brush my teeth and wash my zombie-fied face. Yeah, we did not shower for the whole day!

Day 2 (20 August 2011)

We reached Incheon Airport, Seoul, at about 6.20am local time, 5.20am Brunei time. I couldn't be happier to get of that plane. It was the longest and most torturing flight ever!

We found my cousin's friend who was on the same flight as us but he was sitting really far from us, like different class? =P

We found a money changer so we changed to more KRW in case we couldn't find any easily.

We then bought a bus ticket to............ Gimpo Airport!!!

LOL

We were going to Jeju island! I really salute myself for being able to stay awake after not sleeping at all on the plane.

So, we waited for the bus at Platform 10A. It was really hot and stuffy cos it was summer then. The bus ride to Gimpo Airport(a domestic airport which also provides flights to neighbouring countries like China, JAPAN, Hong Kong and Philippines) was about 15-30 mins. I'm sorry I don't remember cos I was a zombieeeeee...

Upon reaching Gimpo Airport, we had huge Korean dumplings and grilled pork for brunch!

Since we had some time to kill before entering the departure hall, we went to the mini mart to have a look. Bought this banana milk and some pastries from a bakery at the airport. The pastries were =S

Some random stuff we say on the way and the plane that's gonna take us to Jeju! *EXCITED*

And so we flew to Jeju island at about 11:20 am via Asiana Airlines. Reached Jeju airport around an hour later.

First impression of Jeju airport, it's infested by Chinese! Or rather, I couldn't distinguish a Chinese from a Korean. Too similar!

We took a taxi to our hotel(at Seogwipo City, south of the island), which was about an hour ride from the airport(at Jeju City, north of the island). It costed us about BND 50? I guess the price is okay cos we split it between the 4 of us. Along the way, I thought I'd sleep but I was so wrong. There were so many things to see and the island is really beautiful!

PS: The Halla mountain is in the middle of Jeju island so in order to go to the south, you either go along the east or west coast.

Halfway to our hotel, the sky and weather started to turn cool and before we realised, it was raining! Not those rain that we have here but those mist like rain? We didn't get wet although the taxi driver had his windows rolled down.

The receptionist was really nice and friendly though she couldn't speak fluent English but just enough for us to understand. :)

The first thing that we did when we reached our room was to... TAKE SHOWER!!

Like finally!!! Imagine us on the move from Friday noon all the way to Saturday afternoon without much rest and shower! More than 24 hours!!

How did I survive 6 airports over 3 countries in 24 hours? It's a damn long and tiring journey!

Of course must share the photos of our room right? We booked an Executive Twin room under Resort Rooms for 2 nights. It sounds confusing yeah? It is a hotel and resort and we stayed at the resort part cos it caters more to families. I think we were the only foreigners staying there through out our stay there!

A mini kitchen, a queen bed, a single bed, a dinner table(which became my most favourite spot cos it's the only place where my phone can detect the wifi!!), the balcony and view outside our room! There's a mini living room with sofas but the photo that I took was too bad.

PS: there's a korean type of mattress in the closet so the room's just nice for 4 people!

It was already about 4pm when all 4 of us finally finished showering and resting. We took the taxi to Jeju city cos we were really really realllyyyyyyy HUNGRY!

While finding our way and hunting for a place to eat, we bought some HUGE peaches. To stop my head from going dizzy, I got another banana milk! It's just average.

We randomly picked a small family like restaurant for our dinner. It was a really good choice cos the food was really DELICIOUS and it's all cooked by an ahjumma! Steady or not?!

Korean Pepsi and Sprite, ddukbukki, kimchi fried rice, naengmyon(cold noodles), kimbap, kimchi, radish pickles and sun du bu and kimchi chigae shared by 4 of us and we ate til the plates were cleaned! It was a really satisfying meal and we ordered by pointing at the photos of food on the wall and with just one korean word that I knew 'Hana' which means 'one'. LOL language is NOT a barrier when your stomach is at risk! tsk tsk...

The whole meal costed less than BND 20! Can I go back there now??

Wanted to get the Green Tea Swiss Roll but it's tooooo huge, like twice the size of those we have here? So in the end, I didn't get it. =(

We went to Family Mart(local version of 7-11 or mini marts) to get some snacks before heading back to the hotel to call it a day.

Took a taxi back to the hotel and that ahjussi taxi driver's so cute!! Though he couldn't speak more than a few words in English and he had no idea where our hotel was, he still tried his best to speak with us! No worries if the taxi drivers in South Korea don't know where a place is as long as you have the address(in Korean), they can just key into their GPRS device!

Worries no more~

He asked where we're from and I told him we're from Malaysia cos really, if you travel a lot, you'll know why. It saves you a lot of explanation cos 9/10 people do NOT know where Brunei is.

Back at our room, while the men watched tv and my cousin uploaded photos to her fb, I took photos of things that we've bought from Family Mart!

Soju, pomegranate juice, jellies/puddings from Paris Baguette, Cherry Coke(have not had one since I was 10!), coffee, fresh yoghurt from Paris Baguette, BANANA MILK(this is the best out of all that I've tried through out my stay there!) and Big Bang's cards hehe and oh our fridge!

The wifi connection was VERY fast like seriously fast! I'd uploaded most of these photos to twitter so you might find them familiar ;)

After few hours of writing, organising, recalling and editing photos, that's all for this post! OMG it's the LONGEST post ever! I couldn't split the post into Day 1 and Day 2 cos they are connected! Sorry for the long ass entry!

The Return to Ciao Bello Cafe!

Dropped by Ciao Bello Cafe for the 2nd time last week with a friend for tea/early dinner.

That's how the main entrance looks like and from the place that I sat, I couldn't help but take a photo of the beautiful and enchanted chandelier lights hanging from the ceiling.

The weather was cool that afternoon and it started to rain not long after we sat down. Have I said that I love the quiet and peaceful ambience there? The lazy weather just made our time there more enjoyable!

This time around, I ordered a cup of hot coffee. Cafe latte to be exact and personally, they serve better hot coffee over the cold ones. Friend ordered the cookie and cream milkshake. I have no idea if that's nice or not cause we were busy catching up with one another's lives! You can never stop 2 girls from talking once they started! LOL

As what I'd planned after my first visit, I ordered their burger! I don't really remember the name of the burger but it was Swiss something burger with mushroom and cheese. The burger was served with some fries and it is HUGE! It's bigger than my fist! I think it was about 10cm in diameter!! Their beef patty is homemade and I couldn't distinguish the sauce in the burger but overall, the burger is DELICIOUS! A burger I'd eat again =D

PS: the burger with fries cost less than B$10!

And... I couldn't finish the burger! HAHA so, just a lil tip from me, share with another person ;)

Although it felt like time was frozen there what with the ambience and weather, in reality, we ate, sat and talked through almost 2 hours! WOW!

I enjoyed meeting up with my friend at such a lovely place. Will definitely drop by again! Heck, even my nephew was bugging me to bring him there again for the lava cake!! Kids, or rather, teenagers have accurate taste buds!

Tissue, my life companion LOL

This is gonna be the most random post ever so if you are not interested, please skip this post NOW! =P

We females, and some males, cannot live without one thing in our lives. That is the almighty TISSUE!

Before you say anything, please take a few seconds to think about it first. How often do you use tissue? What do you use it for? Can you live your life without the presence of tissue?

For me, and I believe, most females, use tissue ALL THE TIME for many things and on many occasions and no, we cannot live without tissue in our lives! They are just so handy and we are so spoilt with so much choices!

Don't believe me? I'm just going to briefly talk about some of my favourites!

This is the Vintage Special Edition tissue by Kleenex. 3 packets for B$ 1.30.

Why do I love them? THEY ARE SO PRETTY! Stripes and polka dots are just my thing! HEHE and it's small enough to keep in our handbags! And there are 50 sheets in one packet so there's plenty! No worries about not having enough tissue!

And this is also my favourite! Can you see 50 sheets of 3 ply tissues?? That's just so awesome and handy!! The only drawback is, it's slightly bigger than the previous ones and thus, heavier too! But still, it's a good companion! And it's only B$0.80!

See the differences in size? Love both nevertheless!

This is also a must have for me cause I always keep one packet in my hand phone pouch! We don't bring our hand bags with us all the time but we ALWAYS bring our phones, right? And why did I choose this over the hundreds out there? Yes it's 3 ply and it's only B$1.00!

This is really handy in the office! After washing your hands, you just need a piece to dry your hands! If you spill something on your desk, the most that you need is 2 cause the absorbent factor is really high! And that's 100 sheets for B$0.85!

Last but not least, the other reason why I chose these is that they are all soft and gentle on our skin!

Win?

Now, don't look down on tissue anymore! And another thing to keep in mind, tissues can be recycled so another point for tissues!

Ciao Bello Cafe!

Last week while my friend was driving around Seri Kiulap Mall, we passed by a new cafe named Bello Cafe. As it was night time, I couldn't make out the style of this new cafe. There and then, I promised myself that I'll be back really soon.

And true to the bones, I went back there a few days later with my nephew for lunch.

If you know where Fleur De Lys is, Bello Cafe is just at the opposite end of it. You can't miss it if you go around the building. I saw from tweets in twitter that this place has not opened officially yet. Just a soft opening. I guess the place outside the cafe is to be made into an outdoor seating cos I don't see any cars parking there.

Once we stepped into the cafe, it's an entirely different atmosphere. Soft instrumental music was playing on the background and the cafe is filled with different kinds of seats/chairs/tables! Low sofas, high cushioned arm chairs for tea etc I didn't take any photo of the settings cos every table was occupied. Since this is a local cafe, I wasn't daring enough to snap a photo of the whole cafe! Hehe...

Ambience: 5/5

We found an empty table next to a couple and settled down. Staffs there were really helpful and attentive! I could say, best ever in Brunei so far. You only need a simple eye contact and they'll come over to

you. No hand raising or 'excuse me' needed! =D

Customer service: 5/5

We placed our orders and drinks came really soon. While waiting for our food, I took that day's newspaper and read. Apart from newspapers, they also have some magazines. I am so itching to go back there again for a slow afternoon tea session with a girl friend, not my nephew. HAHA

The couple beside us ordered burger and it was BIG ASS! The biggest burger I've ever seen and instantly, we both regretted our choice of food. Oh well, there's always next time!

A flip through the menu, they serve burgers, sandwiches, kebabs, pastas and some light snacks. There were a variety of drinks to choose from and price range is the normal range in Bandar Seri Begawan. So, if you are not from BSB, please be ready to splurge an average of $15-20 per person for the whole meal.

Nephew's iced cappuccino, my iced latte and chips with tartar sauce.

Nephew's angel hair carbonara with beef bacon and wild mushroom, mynasi lemak and chocolate lava pudding/cake.

Drinks were alright, I still find the iced coffee at South Korea being the best. Chips were exactly my type, really filling! Nephew's pasta was quite good but he told me it was too cheesy to be consumed alone.

The rice from my nasi lemak is heaven! It is sooo fragrant! But other than that, the chicken and sambal were just ordinary. Personally, I think they need to improve the chicken. I didn't finish it cos the middle part was raw.

Our dessert was the MOST DELICIOUS ever! I chose to go without ice cream and boy I was so glad that I did! The hot and gooey chocolate that flows out is just OMGSOYUMMY! Just a little opinion from a dessert freak here, can we have a little bit more slices of fruits? Just 3 thinly sliced strawberries are not enough ok! Maybe a few slices of peaches and kiwi?

Bello Cafe, I'll definitely drop by again to taste the HUGE-ASS burger and have that AWESOMECHOCOLATELAVACAKE again!

On a side note, I am curious to why they name the cafe Bello Cafe. Why not Bella Cafe? Since Bello is a masculine word and Bella is a feminine word, doesn't Bella sound more beautiful? a little googling answered my question. Past few weeks have been really stuffed with work! The sadder thing is, it's going to continue until the calendar shows December!

huhu...

Anyway, just wanna share something that happened a while ago.

I saw my teenage nephew eating toast really deliciously and my stomach growled right away! So, I made myself a cup of coffee first before settling down and joining him.

Placed a piece of bread in the toaster and sat down. By that time, he's already done with his 5th serving and so he stood up and walked into the kitchen to clear the plate etc LOLS he is a growing boy =P

So I asked him to get me a knife so I could spread some butter on my toast. Few seconds later, he placed a knife on the table in front of me. Yeah, a knife. A KITCHEN KNIFE!!!

LOLSSS

I was like, "Noooo... I meant the knife for spreading butter, not this one!"

With a really straight face, he said, "You said you wanted a knife! Say properly next time!"

I was taken aback for a few seconds. He then took the kitchen knife away and brought a knife for spreading butter back for me.

Hehe =D

Moral from this small incidence, always state what you want CLEARLY. People cannot read your mind and know what you REALLY want unless you say it out clearly.

Are some of these changes really necessary?

Before I take a nap, please let me let out what's been at the back of my mind for a few days already.

But, before I start anything, let me emphasise that EVERYTHING that I'm going to type below is all MY opinion and if it hurts anyone's feelings, just click the 'x' button. TYVM~

Was it Wednesday or Thursday that Facebook started to run their latest changes? There are people who really hate the changes but there are also those who love the new stuff.

Now, what I think is, they really need to fix a few thing. There is this function where you can restrict people on your friend list from seeing your updates but it's not blocking or deleting? I totally love that function cos first, you won't feel awkward if you are to restrict a relative or another elder person that you know cos you are not blocking them or deleting them from your list. You are just merely 'appearing offline' if you get me. But now, there is no use to that function anymore. People who you've restricted on your friend list now can also view as if you have not restricted! >.<

PS: don't you dare tell me you've never used that function before! everyone uses it!

I don't mind the location thing or with who thing when you update a status cos you can choose to disable those BUT the function that I love most is now invalid? How am I supposed to spazz my love for KPOP now? I don't think my elders are happy to see my KPOP posts appearing from head to toe on their news feed! It's meant to be shared among friends my age.

Facebook, seriously, can you please fix this? Please? Please think of those poor elders who have to scroll down a lot of posts which are not their cup of tea just to look for posts that they are interested in!

Another function that has been changed for worse is the tagging function. Sometimes, friends tag us on their funny photos for fun and when we feel like removing the tag from the photos, we just click remove tag. But now it has changed to report/remove tag! Now, those are 2 different thing. I don't want to report my friend, I just want to remove tag like how I used to! Facebook, please do something. Maybe you can split those two?

Now on to the pros, I love the bigger thumbnails! CLAP CLAP! Now we don't need to click the photo for a bigger view cos it's already big enough! Not unless the photo is blurred or there's too much details. I have yet try the timeline function so there is no comment yet and the small live update on the upper right corner is not a bad idea too.

I know there are people who are pissed why some people(I am one of them) are fussing over the privacy on Facebook. Yes I do agree that there is no 100% privacy on the internet and Facebook BUT since Facebook is a social network and there are functions to limit what you show on your page, why not me make full use of it? Are you sure you want your boss to know your activities after working hours?? I don't! Are you sure you want those psychos stalking you and your friends? I don't! I know some of you must be saying, "you shouldn't upload it to the internet in the first place".

Well, what century is this? Do we still need to write letters and mail photos to relatives and friends who are overseas?? We are using social networks to interact within our friends and relatives and that is why they are on our friend list and people who we don't know are not.

Aih~

I shall not get hyped over these matters... I've said what I wanted to say and whether there will be any changes, for better or worse, I'll just keep my eyes open.

Carrying my happy mood back from work, I stumbled upon a Japanese twitpic user and got to know this cute thing called ショボーン (sho boun).

Apparently, it is a type of facial expression that the Japs use at emails or text messages just like our ^^, :P or :) but theirs is waaaay cuter like (｀・ω・´).

How can they make things so 2D so cute?! They even make plush toys and cute mugs with this thing! Call them smart or creative? Or purposely trying to make money off people like me LOL

It's the second week of a new semester and I feel like the 2 weeks of break before that didn't exist at all. As soon as I open my eyes each morning, I dread getting out of bed cos I know there'll be piles and piles of work to do. When one is not done yet, a new one will be give. I know I love to eat but I don't really fancy filling my plate with a 'variety' of 'food' that are overflowing. It's just a headache to decide which food my fork or spoon shall attack first cos each and everyone of them are equally 'delicious'.

Oh well... I've gone through waves of emotions through out the whole week. I was angry cos I was really tired and I still couldn't finish my work. I was sad cos why was I given so much and yet some people have nothing to do at all. I was happy cos I received good news regarding work and later extremely mad and sad again.. argghhh I felt like I was having some bipolar mood!

I have to constantly look at those beautiful photos from my vacation, talk to my dear friends and enjoy nice music just to keep myself sane and stop my soul being sucked by work.

For now, I shall stop thinking or worrying so much and take things one step at a time. I will not expect perfect outcomes and I will not blame myself for poorly done work anymore. Yes, I shall think that way :)

While putting on my moisturiser this morning, I freakingly dropped the whole thing! The lid broke and I was having a feeling that I'll be receiving some bad news. And right I was!

When nostalgia strikes...

After having dinner with my friends just now, I suggested we drop by the renovated bookstore around the corner.

Being in the bookstore made me felt nostalgic. I remembered how I used to visit that store whether I had anything particular to buy or just to pass some time. I loved going into bookstores and I still do! I always love the connection that you feel when you hold a book. It feels like you are entering different worlds through books!

The shopkeeper asked me, "Are you studying or working already?"

I hesitated for a bit before answering, "Working."

To be honest, I was quite shock at the shopkeeper myself! He remembers me! The me 9 years ago who has never changed in term of looks! Well, just taller and bigger =P

(I have not been there since I moved away from that town and the bookstore that I sometimes go to around here is smaller and the shopkeeper is a very unfriendly lady I should say!)

Ahhh.. the good old days when the only problems on our minds were to study, get passing grades, what to do after school, where to go during the school holidays and which cd/cassette to get or which outdoor game to play! But time does not wait and the past will only be memories for us to reminisce as long as our brain or heart still remembers.

I was just talking with my friend this afternoon how we used to beg for a new box of colour pencils or a new set of story books and that kids nowadays are asking for iphones, ipads, itouch, laptops, mobile phones, nintendo ds, psp and what not! And most of the time, kids nowadays get their wishes really easily where as we practically had to beg for days or sometimes weeks, just to get a box of 36s colour pencils! You know how we were given only 12s or max 24s colour pencils?! They are not enough ok! HAHA especially if you have a hobby of colouring princesses, Mickey and Hello Kitty on colouring books like me! OMG where are those colouring books now? I have not seen a single one since Primary school days! It has long been replaced by Ben 10 and Upin & Ipin! LOL

When fate inter wines at a weird junction...

Sometimes, things happen for a reason and sometimes, they don't.

I've just bought a new pair of Nike runners from Hong Kong last month and I totally love it to bits! You can say it's love at first sight cos of ALL types of runners in the store, it was the first to catch my attention and was also the only one that I liked after trying on 3 different pairs of runners. The bright purple with silver tick is just too beautiful. It fitted my feet perfectly. So far, this brand has never failed me in terms of looks, comfort, style, practicality, longevity and value.

Now a really close friend of mine also got the same pair of runners! WOW! Call that coincidence or fate? I don't know! HAHA she bought it at Hua Ho a few weeks earlier before I bought mine BUT she never mentioned her purchase and I never did mine until a few days ago, I was so shocked when she was putting on her runners while leaving my place!

I was like, "HEY! You know what? I've got the same shoes as you! Wait! Let me go get mine!"

And so.... we put on our lovely runners and took a photo~

Well.. Hi!!!

It's been quite some time...

It's a quiet Sunday morning here so my head is a bit clear for me to think and do a short update.

There are a few reasons why I have not been updating much for the past year. I must admit that the first reason is none other than lazy. Followed by busy. Since I started working about 2 years ago, my 'me time' is very precious. I only get an average of 4 hours of that daily. Well, a few hours more on off days but still, there are just so many things going in life.

As we age, we treasure the people around us more and we feel that we need to spend more time with them rather than spending our time on the internet. I still love the internet nonetheless! HEHE I can't NOT use the internet IF I am at home. There's the urge to check blogs, facebook, YOUTUBE etc whenever there's some free time!

A decade ago, my peers and I interacted via the email and msn messenger. Then Friendster came and email is being ditched for social reasons but still in used cause you still need an email to register and for other purposes. Then, Youtube(I think it's the best after Google) entered our lives and things have not been the same anymore. Think about it, would you watch a 3 minute video on 'how to make a cupcake?' or read a full page of description? Blogs somehow became really significant in my life circa 2002-2003. I've owned a few blogs and deleted them. This, being the only one left after so many years. HAHA A blog shows the identity of the blogger and I always enjoy blogwalking where the wonder of links bring me from one blog to another. Love the jokes, photos and stories blogged by bloggers but sadly, blogging is not a very 'in' thing nowadays. It really requires a lot of time and commitment from the bloggers and lots of support from the readers. No? hehe...

Then, our lives got more sucked into the internet world when Facebook became the most visited site. Tell me, how many people who know how to use the computer does NOT have a facebook account? Well, some deactivated theirs but still, they HAD one. Now, that is the evolution of the internet. You can share photos, videos, links etc on facebook. It's fast and convenient. I myself must connect to my facebook each day(if I'm not travelling) to get updates from friends and music. The only setback til now is still the chat. It really ain't that good. haha well, nothing is perfect so whatever.

You see, if you have so many things to see and do on the internet, would you update your blog as often as you used to be? You'll be like, "later later...tomorrow tomorrow.. ok maybe next week" and the high chance is forgot. HAHA

I think another reason why bloggers have stayed more active in their fb or twitter is cause they can get feedbacks asap. And... the wonder of tagging is sure useful!!

Lessons that we should always remember

"I own a blog" kept on appearing at the back of my head all these while BUT I just never got myself to update it! *sigh* I can't fully blame it on my work cause there were times when I had some free time but I was just soooo lazy to update!

Hehe...

Anyhow... just wanna share something that I read from another blog today.

Lesson 1

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings.
The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.
When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour.
Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.'
After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.
The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs.
When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?'
'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies.
'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'
Moral of the story
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2

A priest offered a Nun a lift.
She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg.
The priest nearly had an accident.
After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.
They rub it and a Genie comes out.

'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'
Puff! She's gone.
'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.'
Puff! He's gone.

Moral of the story

Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.
A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?'
The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.'
So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story

To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5

A turkey was chatting with a bull.
'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.'
'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.'
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch..
Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story

Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

A jam packed 2010

Howdeeee.. I did not realise that 2010 is gonna end in a few hours! Where did my 2010 go? Why didn't I feel that I've lived through 2010?

Let me do some flashback.

Ahh.. I see... 2010 is a busy year for me.

This year, I start teaching full time, handling my own class. Wow that's some experience that I will not forget. With this little much experience, I am sure I can do better next year! No no, I MUST do better next year! LOL I was a noob during TP last year and life was TERRIBLE but this year, it's a lot better. As the old saying goes, you learn as you gain experiences and make mistakes. Yes, don't faint if you make mistake cos it will teach you something.

I also went to a lot of places this year compared to other years. I went to Singapore, KL, Bangkok, KK and KL (again). I can say that I enjoyed ALL my trips cos I got to eat nice food, meet new people, see new places, experience a different culture/language and meet up with some friends. Wait... and a lot of SHOPPING! =P

2010 is also a year that my wallet cries silently LOL all my daily paid salary goes to work, TRAVELLING & SHOPPING, a new laptop, a new phone, a new wardrobe, a new desk, a few new shelves and car servicing.

Wow one of my goals for 2011 is to save a lot of money HAHA call me kiam or whatever~

Now, here are my wishes for 2011:

1) Good health for everyone like, seriously? that's the most important right?

2) A bank account that has more isi HAHA

3) Perform better in work and possess the super power to mark books really fast. HAHA

3) Spend more time with my friends. I'm sooo sorry! It's so tiring to hang out after work on working nights man. *sniff sniff*

4) More 'me' time! lol this is to squeeze in animes and dramas hohoho

5) Always keep my room clean and tidy. Aiyoh must increase to cleaning twice a week now!

6) Must make sure I have at least 7 hours of sleep daily.

7) Travel to NEW places.

8) Brush up my foreign languages. I feel so guilty man. Need to brush up my nihongo and italiano especially the later cos it's been agesssss mi dispiace insegnante!

9) Get a digital camera. OMG this has been on my list for so many years but it never happen HAHA

10) Be more organised or rather, better time management.

Wow that's a long list!

Alright then... it's time to fulfill #5 before going to dinner at sis's later!

I'm baaaaaack!

I missed our fresh air so much! As being warned earlier, the air in hottomyumtuktuk-land is not that good. My nose was stuck almost the whole week we were there! Except when we went out of Bangkok, I could breathe properly. HAHA

Anyway, it was fun going to Thailand! I would love to go back there again cos shopping is awesome! Food wise is so so for me but DESSERTS or ochipala food, they are SIBEH HO JIAK! ahhhh my coconut milk pudding with coconut jelly, my coconut ice cream with peanuts, my fresh sea coconut drink, my kane mochi, my mango with sticky rice, my beloved PAPAYA SALAD with lots of peanuts!!

I want them now!

I'm not really digging the real food if you notice. They are either too salty or too sweet. Mehhh... not really my taste but it was a good experience eating lots of new food!

I came back a few shades darker and also fatter last week cos we went to Pattaya(not for sun tanning but to visit Ripley's Believe it of not museum and wax museum) and Ayutthaya!! Went to the later place to visit the Summer Palace, ancient ruins(a better word is old temples). Click here for detailed info. It was a cool experience but it was SOOOO HOOOOOT! We also went to Ancient Siam! That place is really cool! They rebuilt a lot of historical buildings but smaller! Click here for info. I'm not really sure with the names of places cos I left all the decisions and navigating to my travelling partner and her Thai friend. =P I just followed and had fun!

PS: To my travelling partner's Thai friend, Mr. J, THANK YOU for your super hospitality!

We went to so many markets! I totally love their markets to bits! Popular tourists' favourites and also locals' favourites too! The later ones are better cos the things are wayyy cheaper! Bought so many funky wacky t-shirts, cute ribbon hair bands and super cute ear rings! Oh not forgettng my slippers and sandals too! No item cost more than 400 bahts! That's less than B$ 20!!

If I minus my hotel fares(that also less than 200 for 1 week!), air tickets(300+), tour packages(donch remember) and my Adidas and Converse sneakers, I spent only around B$ 700 only on shopping, travelling and food with lots of omiyage too! And that's one week ok!

Aiyaahh words don't look nice when describing one's travelling journey. I'll let the pictures do the talking! BUT not now cos I haven't move my lazy arse to my travelling partner's house to get the photos from her. BUT if you are my friend on my FB, I'm sure you've seen them! =D

Ahhh I kinda miss travelling in tuk tuk. So cool! I am also missing Thai pop songs! LOL they are quite addictive when you see their videos being played over and over and over and over again on their TV. Here are two that I personally love!

Not bad right? Too bad I still can't speak Thai and I still donch understand =S

But there're a few encounters that I'm not happy about. One happened just right after we touched down on the airport, queueing up to get our passport stamped. This lady asked my travelling partner to go to the Thai passport booth so I followed but she stopped me!! =.='' so I pointed to my parter and said, "she is my friend" and the lady showed me a blur look and I had to use keep on saying that the girl is my friend and we came together and she ahhh.. OMG she went to ask this ang moh if I am his partner!!! *faints* both of us shook our heads in horror!! OMG just a gentle reminder, please please please, if you are a staff working at an international airport, pleaseeee at least know some basic English like the words "she" and "my friend". But all ends well cos she let me joined my travelling partner! woohoo~

Anyhow, that's all for today.. gonna start my working engine!

Our 3rd term school holidays kicked off yesterday and it'll last til the 19th!

YAY!

I was sooooo looking forward to this holiday because I didn't do much or rest much in my previous break. BUT I don't feel the mood yet!

I think it must be the marksheets! My eyes are spinning due to those calculation. Oh gosh, now I am going thru what our teachers went thru last time. Ain't fun yo! The most troublesome parts are to give the 1% or not so that pupil can pass or to minus 1% or more or not cos that pupil always NEVER hand in his/her homework.

And then there's the keying in! OMG worst job ever! Imagine your spreadsheet going all the way til BY!(if you don't understand this, you're so lucky!) screw one column, you have to redo the whole row all the way from B! Zzzzz... and that is if you screw ONE row only hoho imagine screwing the scores for every pupils! OMG I cannot imagine ><

Well, I'll just need to do some more paper work before I am officially on holiday! I've bought tickets to somewhere months ago so I guess, there's not much drama catch up for me this time. I'm gonna catch up with my tomodachitachi on the few days that I'm around! Gaaahh where shall we eat? HAHA

Another round of Sungkai Buffet or just normal dinner? Hmm... I wonder....

Oh yeah, I went back to Cheezbox again last week for their Sungkai Buffet and it's still awesome! I am missing the poached salmon baaaaadly! :S there were some changes in the menu but overall, it's still awesome! Was filled up to the max HEHE

I'm off to watch my Yumeiro Patissiere anime now but before that, my current favourite song at the moment.

Well! Here I am again, not even a day has passed since I last updated! Does that mean I'm back blogging again?

Hmmmm.. that's something for me to think about.

I feel more relaxed lately. I know there's a saying that goes something like "the storm after the calm"? Someone please correct me! I forgot the phrase! Oright, so is there one that says "the calm after a storm"? Cos I think that is exactly what I am feeling now. It feels like nothing can make my life more miserable than what happened. I felt reborn! HAHA ohkay that sounds so weird...

It's just that... I felt that I can take whatever sh*t that is going to come after a really bad incident. Have you ever felt that way? Is that what people usually say, "you've grown stronger". Yes?

OMG!

I finally can sign in into my blogger account after so many days! I don't know why... maybe it's our lousy internet connetion(ahemm broad-band cough) but I was able to load my Cafe World and youtube vids even though it was quite slow.

Anyhow... it's been TWO MONTHS since I last updated! I think this is the longest gap ever! Well, just a lil update on life. Work got a bit out of hand this week and I was really in stressed AND depressed mode. I'm sorry if I look pissed or grumpy or if I had offended anyone. I just had a lot on my mind. Not only me but everyone in my school. What with stars.... yeah let's just leave it to that =)

But I'm much better now. Managed to go through it all and learnt a bit of lessons here and there. I really need A LOT, really.. like A WHOLE DINOSAUR lot of experience in my work. There's so much to learn and yet so little time because time is always running and I am only crawling!

It's not too late to find this cos it's only the 4th day of fasting! more than 3 weeks left for food galoring XD

I'm currently on a Korean drama and an anime and both of them are about food or rather, bakery! Mid of June two oh one oh

Yikes! What has gotten into me in my last post?

HAHA

Well, I guess venting out somewhere really helps and make our mind stable.

Anyhow... holiday has been okay so far. Note to myself: need to seriously get some work done ASAP!

I have been catching up on lots of dramas and books. Finished "Cinderella's Stepsister" and I have to say it is good! Not awesome but yeah, good enough to spend some time in watching it. Absolutely love the leading actor(Chun Jung Myung is sooo cute!) and the ost(It has to be you sang by YeSung of Super Junior). Love the twist in the drama and like any other korean drama, sadness.

I'm currently juggling between a korean drama titled "Coffee House" and a taiwanese drama titled "Autumn's Concerto". Am having a pause in the later cos it's a bit too long gas? HAHA Where as the former is killing me!!! IT IS SO FUNNY that I thought I am gonna die from laughing too much. Just when the drama is getting into the real plot, it will have a pause for a few weeks due to World Cup. Right... I don't even know why WC has got to do with korean drama. =.=''

My Japanese and HK dramas are still pending together with my anime and western Series! OMG so much stuff to watch but so little time. hahaa well....

I managed to catch 2 movies at the cinema this holiday. "Prince of Persia" and "Karate Kid". I like both movies! Giving a 4/5 for both movies. 1% is deducted from each movie cos there're snakes in POP and the fights are a bit too violent in KK.

Met up with a couple of friends and I hope I can meet the rest in the next few days before Monday rolls in!

Our aunty has gone back and will be back in 3 weeks' time and life has been soooo different at home. HAHA folding clothes hachooooo~

Bought a new bag and some necessities which include DVDs(yesss I seriously do not know how I am going to finish them), hair bands/head bands and ummm books? OH YES BOOKS! So many waiting for me to be read! Only managed to finish reading Sophie Kinsella's Twenties Girl. I must say it's not bad. Well 8/10? HEHE

I have been staring at this blank space for quite some time, collecting my thoughts to form into words and sentences.

Nowadays, it's not easy to just write how I feel or what I wanna write anymore. There's lots of things swimming in my head making decisions harder to make, words harder to say and sentences harder to write. Everything that I do and say, I must carry the consequences 100%. I feel like a chicken sometimes not daring to do things spontaneously anymore. I am afraid of taking responsibilities, afraid that I can't do anything to undo a mistake.

Is this all part of being an adult or just merely being alive? When we were young, nobody told us these. Everyday I realise I should do this, I should not do that. Everyday I feel happy for something, sad for something. It feels like the mind is working extra hard compared to years ago.

Years ago, a phone call or just talking with a close friend can send the grey clouds away because at the end of the day, all the problems can be solved. Now? Even talking about problems might be creating more problems. Should I burden someone else by talking about my problems? Will someone else overheard our conversation that will get us into trouble? Will there be someone eavesdropping and retell to someone else who can't shut his/her mouth? Will my words hurt someone that in return creates hatred?

Now I sound so emo.

I should not be like this. This is my holiday for goodness sake! I must be enjoying my off days from work and have some 'me' time. There's less than a week before school reopens and I seriousy seriously SERIOUSLY do not want to even think about the events that are going to happen then. I must forget the image of my desk calender in my office that is sooo full. But this is so hard!!!

I have yet plan my lessons for the coming semester, find the info for my work and sort my mind. I really wish there is someone who can write out a list of things that I HAVE TO do so I can just follow it diligently and not THINK about what to do. The word 'think' is a very big word. You think having the word 'think' in your mind is already thinking meh? *sigh*

On days like today, reminiscing the old days is the only way to soothe the mind. The good old days where waking up, getting ready for school, listen when the teacher talks, trying the best to remember, hanging out with friends, playing with neighbourhood friends until our moms screamed for us to have our bathe, watching telly and going to sleep were really the good old days. No worries and no torture to the good old brain up there in our coconut shell.

When we were young, we looked forward to grow up, to earn money and buy things that we wanted. When I was still studying, I still think the same too. Now, I just wish life is less complicated. Work alone is so energy sucking mentally and physically. On some days, I came home feeling like the zombies that we see in movies. The body is moving by itself but the mind is not there. Is that what they call mentally exhausted? I know my working hours are not long compared with most jobs but just thinking that I still have things to do after reaching home is really spoiling the mood.

I can't say I am happy nor unhappy with my work. I think I've lost the ability to think properly. People are always saying, "You must love your job!/ If the job that you love can't pay your bills you might as well don't work!/ Chasing your dreams is everything!"

OH RIGHT... which one is correct ha?!

Okie dokieeeee.. it's Friday again!

Did manicure and pedicure at a new place today with atashi no tomodachi. The place's called Nail Paradise, situated a few doors down from Court furniture in Kb.

Apparently, this nail parlour has been around for 2 years! OMG I'm like the last one to know? HAHA I only know when another tomodachi told me last month. Yes, I am very out. I've been out every since I started working full time.

This place is quite small so yeah I think they only can attend to up to 3 customers at the same time only.

What I really like about this place is, the price is affordable and they use OPI's stuff! LOTS of colour to choose from and they have really nice designs! I am so going back for nail designs when my holiday is here.

Members of Nail Paradise can enjoy 10% discount. It's really easy to get the membership. I paid $78 for about 7 services which include mani, pedi, hand and foot massage, hand and foot spa etc Then I got a membership card d! And... *drums roll* I don't have to do all the services in one session and there's no expiry date. One more really cool offer is 50% on my birthday week!!!

Now how COOL is that?!

Alright, enough of my experience at Nail Paradise. This is not a money making blog so I'll just continue with the bits and pieces of my life.

My kids are having their Mid Year Exams next week. OMG I am so nervous! What if they are going to do worse than last exam? What will the parents think? Did they study at home? Did they rest? See? My job ain't easy. HAHA that's why I have not been going out much. Holiday ah holiday, I miss you! 2 weeks to go!

There's this riot going on at Bangkok right now and the red shirts just set the malls on fire 2 days ago. My god! MALLS!! I think my ticket has to be chucked into the bin then. There I was so looking forward to shopping in Bangkok since February! Anyway, I just hope they won't hurt more people or... buildings. It's not cheap to build a new shopping mall ok! And the people! So kesian can!

That apart, there isn't much going on apart from work. I have so many things lining up on my 'to-do list' for this June break. I am really looking forward to June!

I have been in the mood for classic songs from the 90's and early 2000's. Bands like 911, The Moffatts, Bon Jovi, Savage Garden, BSB, HOT and singers like Kavana, Aaron Carter, Jay Chou's earlier songs are really superb classics that are missing from today's music. Music nowadays depend too much on computers and it makes the songs lack the feel and touch. Gah... how I am missing the good old days when we were younger and things were more simple and the grass was greener. HAHA ok scratch the last bit.

OMG I am so happy! OMG my wallet is so sedih!

I got myself a new laptop today! HEHE it's Dell Inspiron 14 T4500 in BLACK colour!

Woots! It's really cheap. Got it for only $868! I am not a gamer so I don't need a very canggih one. Doing my work and surfing the net are all I need from my laptop with an occasional movie marathon. Even that is during the holiday only. =P

I spent almost an hour trying to install my bmobile modem to my new laptop. Was REALLY worried that it's incompatible with Windows 7. But yeah, I googled and phewff apparently, there's a manual on bmobile's website to show you the way to update your software. Now, all my worries have been solved.

Next thing is to install my java(done in less than a minute!) and windows live messenger. WLM is taking ages to install!! Zzzz

I think I shall go to bed now and re-install WLM again tomorrow.

In my dream later... counting the days to refill my wallet HAHA

Sooo... it's May! Almost half of 2010 is gone.

Let's see what I've done lately.

I went for medical check up with my colleagues. Got my hand poked by a not so thin needle but I was considered lucky cos I got a nicer lady so no bruise or anything. In case you are wondering, it's requested by MOH. Until now I still don't know why they are doing this. Maybe they wanna scare themselves by looking at the health results of us HAHA

Shopped like A LOT? Bought 6 pairs of kains just for $75! 2 of them are cotton! OOOoooh I am sooo excited! I've never made any baju kurung from cotton before. Gotta think of a nice and simple design so the pretty flowery kains won't go to waste.

Bought soooo many books. Seriously, I now have more than 20 reference books? All to help me teach better. HAHA ok I am bluffing. All to guide me to set exercises and short tests for my kids. I'm new in this profession so I don't have that MUCH idea or clue on how questions should look like. I tend to make questions really hard and they are really tough for my kids. They looked as if they are reading an alien language HAHA

Bought sooo many things for my work as well. Purple White board marker pens! COOL or not! Now I have black, blue, red, green, orange and purple! AWESOME! Got myself a paper cutter all for MYSELF and it's in orange!! =D Handling the scissor for a long time will make your hand tired and I am scared that my fingers will be deformed HAHA so yeah it's a nice investment for my work...

See? Everything in my life now is about my work. I am turning into a workaholic! Nooooooo cannot cannot da-me da-me!! haha

The only thing that I've bought for myself, that's not related to work is hair shampoo. OMG I sound so pathetic now. Ok, nvm, at least I pampered myself to mani+pedi+foot scrub all for $25 only! Now not only I have nice nails, I am having smooth feet too! SUPERB!

Met up with some friends over the last 2 weeks to catch up on each other's busy life. Life is interesting. We each have a job to do or stuff to do(for those who are still studying) but we'll come together once in a while to eat or just to talk. Is familiarity the new way of escaping stress from work? At least you know 80% of the talk that are going to happen will NOT be regarding work. It's gonna be a reminiscence of our funny-nothing-to-worry-about-old-life. Funny events are being brought up over and over again, new stories are being added and forgotten stories are being retold. I LOVE meeting my friends. At least I know life is not just about working. It's about bonding with people as well.

Tomorrow, I am going to have a girls' night out! Woooohoooo~ It's something that we've planned since last year! OMG! We've been working for 6 months! Another 6 to go to make it ONE year. Deng we are sure gonna celebrate it. It might not be something that people usually celebrate for but it's just a reminder that we've survived the cruel adult world. We are just mere novice exploring the big bad world outside schools and unis.

Oh on a side note, a friend is getting married this June! Congratulations F and I! HAHA dengg cannot mention their names here cos this dear friend of mine even deactivated her FB account! Well hello?

I've been away from this blog for quite some time! It doesn't feel like it's mine anymore. It feels like a stranger to me.

No! This cannot happen! I am going to update MORE often from now on NO MATTER how busy I am. *fingers crossed*

I only have 2 words to describe my life outside the internet. Busy and stressful.

I can't decide which is affecting me mentally and physically. I feel so drained out at the end of each day.

My mind won't stop thinking about my work even when I am spacing out, watching tv, going to sleep or dreaming! Am I a workaholic? Is this the life of a workaholic?

NOOOOOoooooo...

I look forward to Thursday nights and Fridays because these are the only time in the whole freaking long week that have some changes from my everyday routine.

Sometimes I feel like a zombie that is being controlled by someone else.

On another note, I have not posted the long overdue photos! Right... I don't even remember where I saved them what with my laptop crashing so many times in the last few months.

Until I fill this space up again, have a good day to anyone who still pass by~

Just something to be recorded and shared.

This happened some time this morning. I was teaching a kid who is quite weak in English to read and spell a few words. And randomly, I asked him to read 'good, better, best'.

So I pointed to the words for him to read. And he went, "g-good... beh-better...b-bb.."

So I read the words for him so he can follow.

Now, here is the 1st funny part.

Kid, "good, better, bessted"
Me, "it's best. Try!"
Kid,"best...ted"

And so I started laughing really loud cos it sounds like 'bastard'. HAHA

Moving on to the 2nd funny part.

Me, "ok, try this. good, better best."
Kid, "good, better, brest."

MUAHAHHAHA XD

Me, "ehhh not brest, it's best!'
Kid, "brest"

ROFL

And I couldn't control anymore. I laughed for 2 whole minutes I think! It sounded exactly like 'breast' bah! =P

Me, "ummm kid, you must say the word properly because if you don't, the meaning is not the same."

Sooooo.. after a very long time, he managed to read 'bes', which is without the 't' sound at the end. Well, at least it's not 'bested' or 'brest'.

Man, I still have a loooong way to go to make sure he can read fluently.

PS: This is just my experience to be remembered, not purposely written to make my kid looks bad. So, do pronounce your words properly guys! If not... hohoho~

PPS: I have a few music videos that I can't wait to post but I'm so busy lately! I have some pictures to post too! Well... I hope this post can make you laugh =)

This post is dedicated to a dear friend's dad who passed away a few days ago.

Dear friend, stay strong. It's okay to cry because you're losing someone that you really love and care about. We are all here for you when you need us. Keep all the good memories of uncle. I hope he's leading a better 'life' at another place right now.

Going to pay respect to uncle really made my eyes water. I'm sorry I can't help it. A lot of things just rushed into my mind. Suddenly, I was being reminded of mom, her departure, the time in between her present and now... I'm sorry I couldn't stay long. It's too hard... but I'm sure you know this... only TIME can heal.

My deepest condolence to you and your family, my dear friend.

I was in a bad mood yesterday. I'm sorry if I was being rude to anyone. I was too tired and stressed out.

Yes CNY is a happy season but it's also one of the most tiring season ever! I want more time! It's just so difficult to divide my 24 hours into work, cny and sleep. Currently sacrificing my beloved sleep. Furthermore, my pupils' exams are in one week's time! I am so worried!

Gahhh... How I wish I can sit for their papers for them! I really want all of them to pass but... oh well, I only have 2 days left to drill those important stuff into their brains!

TIME TIME TIME!! I want moooooore~

By the way, today is Brunei Darussalam's 26th National Day. Happy Birthday Brunei! I'm blessed to be born in this country. Thank you for what you've given =D

Hmmm... that's something to think about!

Anyway, just a short update since last Wednesday.

Crossed the border to Miri last Friday. Was really happy cos I got quite a few tops BUT I was quite sad cos I didn't get any shoes or bags!!

Really have to wear old shoes on CNY meh?

CANNOT! I must hunt around Bsb soon until I find one! And a new bag too! Or else, it's not a brand new year. Right? Right? HAHA

The queue that day was terrible! Was at the immigration area for almost 1 hour. Only reached home a lil before 11pm. I am so not going to cross the border again this Friday. HAHA

Who loves buffet? Come on, raise your hand!

HAHA sorry guys! Too much teaching is slowly burning my chick pea brain.

If you like beef, lamb, prawn, turkey or grilled stuff, head on to Mega Hotel's Restaurant(aiya I forgot the name d) in Miri for their dinner buffet(starts at 6.30pm til I don't remember. Sorry!) every Friday and Saturday for about RM 45/adult. That's a rounded up figure with tax and service charges INCLUDED! Now, do the Maths yourself. =P

So worth it, right!! Ok, who's on for the next one? I am so going back for that buffet! Oh yeah, like all buffet, desserts are available too. Yaaaah... I miss their ice cream topped with roasted almond NOW!

Sorry I didn't take any photos cos sis and I were busy chowing our food until we were so bloated. Plus, the photos will make you hate me more LOL

Ok, gotta stop talking about food at this time of the night now.

Work is still the same. Very stressful with a lot on my 'to-do list'. Really, anyone wanna offer to mark my papers and books? I'll treat you... Maggi Tom Yam cup noodle! I know it's only around 90c but it's always out of stock man so it's really precious to me.

Today's the first day of having 34 pupils in my class. OMG I cannot believe it's back to the situation like last year! T_T

Soooo chaotic! But thank goodness I still have my voice after NOT shouting for quite some time. HAHA

Really, there should never be a class with more than 25 pupils. I wonder how teachers at private schools cope ;) Really steady loh!! Ok, maybe I'm not experienced enough.

Anyway, we went to Sheraton Hotel last night for their buffet. It's to celebrate sis's advanced birthday! There weren't THAT much choice but we were sibeh full nonetheless. Maybe because it's a weekday. But the ambience was quite nice though and the service was satisfactory. *thumb's up* I heart the mango mousse hehe

After not hearing people talk Japanese in REAL life for months, my mind was so mixed up and slooooow. Must revise! *insert miss S's name* we must practice together! My tongue is twisted now! LOL

Okay, I'm gonna go steal 15 minutes of nap now before dog-walking time.

Woohoooo~

My laptop is back but I haven't try turning it on. Please be okay after all the repair. Spent $118 on fixing the LCD screen and reformatting! So money sucking lah this laptop!

From this week onwards until some time in May, I can have free time during Social Studies classes! WOOHOOOO~

We have a TP(teaching practice) teacher ^^V

Sooooo... he's going to take over my Social Studies too! I am sibeh happy now. No words can descbribe how I'm feeling right now. Now, I can concentrate on teaching my English, MATHS, Science, ICT(anybody can teach me some photoshop?) and PE. Yes, Maths is the hardest to teach so far cos it's so hard for them to grasp the concept! Aih~

299 + 1 is 4000! Must go back to basic again T.T

The down side is... I'll have 11 extra pupils!

:'(

The teacher in charge of another class will be on maternity leave soon, like in 2 days? I'll be looking after half of her pupils while the other half will be looked after by another teacher.

I'm hoping they can mix well with my naughty pupils and please... really... please don't be as naughty as my pupils. I'll have a zoo if all 34 of them talk and run at the same time. Hopefully they can help my pupils too! =D

Venturing to twenty ten!

OMG I have not blogged since Christmas! And that is exactly 2 weeks! LOL

I wanted to do a 'picture story' post cos my hand suddenly want to draw BUT my mind stopped it cos of a problem.

I can't scan pictures or any files at the moment.

=(

So sad.

My laptop is in KL now cos the screw at the LCD screen broke(since April but it was ok until... October) and the screen has been broken ever since then and the people here couldn't fix it. Why didn't I install my 3 in 1 printer to another laptop? Cos the laptop which I am using at the moment runs on vista and my old printer is incompatible with it!

=S

I tried updating the software BUT there's no updates! HP ah, please do something! What should I do with my useful and important printer when my old laptop dies one day? I think it'll survive for another 2 years top seeing that it's 3 years and 5 months old now!

I want to get the Dell Studio 15 cos it's awesome? But why everywhere no stock har?!

=(

Also, another reason for not updating is that I am too busy. Barely slept at all every night cos the new school term has just started and there're so many things a class teacher's got to do. Going on more about my work will bore you to pineapples so yeah period.

I know it's very late to say this but it's only the 7th day of 2010 so... HAPPY NEW YEAR! I wish good health and better luck to whoever that sees this post.
