Book Swap and Brunei's 10th Consumer Fair
Hey guys~
It's the dreaded Monday again! I know, sucks huh? I am almost done writing the Melbourne post so please bear with me. It's draft at the moment.
At the mean time, here are some photos that I snapped from lunch and the 10th Consumer Fair yesterday.
Same old dishes that I always order at Koryo!
Seafood pancake, cheese tuna kimbap and kimchi chigae~
My niece and I ate them all and we're so full and satisfied!
=D
We then went to the book swap event at
Fun Bee Park and I exchanged 3 books! For pictures, do check their
facebook cos I was too shy to snap some photos there. Hehe
As for the venue, Fun Bee Park, it's actually
NOT a park that you have in your mind or I had in my mind before I went there. It's something like a mini public library that has more space for other activities related to reading, art and craft. For more information, click
here for their website.
Personally, I am really glad that there is a place like Fun Bee Park in Brunei cause it is active in promoting learning through fun(hands on activities) and reading. At least children get to enjoy non-electronic activities which can in return nurture children to be more social. Kids nowadays are spending too much time on the computer, phones and game consoles! They are missing all the fun that kids in the old days had. Kids, please enjoy being kids cause you will want to look back 10, 20 or 50 years later and say that you had a fun childhood. Oh yeah and not forgetting reading too! Reading is really important no matter what age you are and what is better than having a large selection of books to choose from? I browsed through the books that they have and my my, they have books about everything. Cook books, magazines, children's story books, teens novels, encyclopedias, chinese books and lots more! If only I stay in BSB T.T
Anyway, that aside, we went to the 10th Consumer Fair at Bridex after that. I parked my car at the car park at Jerudong Park and took the free shuttle bus to Bridex. We were so lucky that we didn't have to wait for a bus at all cause really, it was REALLY hot yesterday afternoon! Phewf~ But, we did have to be canned tunas through out the short journey to Bridex. LOL no complains cause I was grateful that we did not have to walk and that the bus was air conditioned! :)
There were 2 halls and my instincts told me
MADbites would be in the 2nd hall and so we visited the 2nd hall first. Upon entering the hall, I was taken back by the crowd inside. It's so packed! WOW! Am I really in Brunei? And the quest to search for MADbites started right then. We passed by booths selling all sort of things from phones to tiles to textiles to food and others. We finally found MADbites after a very long time!
I was so happy BUT they ran out of chocolate(the only flavour that I never seem to be able to get my hands on!) and earl grey ones!
:(
And they only had passion+chocolate left so we got some scones, went to the other hall and came back an hour later for the macarons.
MADscone!
MADcarons ♥
Raspberry, passion+chocolate and coffee macarons~
Halal chinese noodles.
I was curious so I bought one to have a taste.
And.... we didn't like it or I should say, we don't know how to eat it. LOL
The texture of the noodles is similar to glass noodles but it's as big as udon! I think the thing that put us off was the sour gravy and smell.
*sigh*
Foodie instinct #1 - fail
We passed by the booths selling stuff from Thailand and stopped by this booth with 2 Thai ahjumma. Yes curiosity strikes again! There wasn't any label or menu but I somehow just wanted to try the milky stuff in the big basin. You can say it's my foodie instinct!
Bought a cup and I loved it! It's Thai ABC! OMGGGGG it's soooooo yummy! The coconut milk wasn't too sweet, the strips of coconut were so fresh and I think the pink coloured crunchy stuff is chestnut? And it's cold! It's a perfect combination! Let niece tried some and she loved it too so we went back to buy another cup! HAHA
Foodie instinct #2 - PASS!
We spent a total of about 2 hours in both halls altogether and our legs were tired from walking so we went outside and sat on a cube thing which I think is just a huge stone.
It was already 6pm but people were still arriving!
Lots of colourful balloons for sale!
Pretty!
Random : This kid who was hanging around us caught my attention with his spiderman balloon.
I think he wanted another balloon cause not long after that, he was sulking at the side. LOL
We enjoyed our Thai ABC and rested for a while before heading back to the 'bus stop' to catch a bus.
On the way there, there was this spinning marathon competition and we stood there for a few minutes with the rest of the crowd to have a look. That ahjumma in pink shirt on the left is so pro! OMG how can someone cycle so fast? LOL
Hall #2
The dome in the middle
Hall #1
We left for home when the sun was setting.
Beautiful view on the other side~
In summary, niece and I had a great time at the consumer fair buying looking at stuff and eating.
Stuff that I bought! XD
Got these Thai handmade toothpicks holders!
Smart!
Would you know it's a toothpicks holder if I didn't tell you? Hehe.. I thought it was a cardholder!
One for sis and one for myself~
The lady had really pretty earrings too but I didn't have the urge to get any. Phewf~
Kit Kats from the UK!
How come we don't have them here?
Fans of Lambo, Hitsugaya(niece's) and Kon!
OMGGGG if only there's Chopper as well!
Rings!
I am more of a watch and earrings person and not a ring person but I was so attracted to the colourful ribbon ring! Cute right?
The Love ring on the left is for
Karen ^^
Another ring to your collection!
Vintage Eiffel Tower necklace!
My most favourite buy of the day!
Vintage charms!
Love, chair, pen, clock, book, frog, teapot, mirror(real mirror!), ring, key and shoe on this charm!
SUPER LOVE!
And that sums up my amazing Sunday. On the way back, I looked up into the sky and saw really pretty twinkling stars and a bright shining moon.
:)
What a great way to end a day~
Have a great week guys!
